“We’ve spent twelve solid on-field hours looking at players and even more than that evaluating off the field,” said Pumas head coach Peter Fewing. “I’m really impressed as the level of play improved each week with the new players coming in. The hard part has been working within the league structure and being limited to only eight over-23-aged players. That single rule made our selection process a real challenge - especially for the returning players from last year”
“Because the level was so high,” he continued, “it made our job even tougher – especially for these final cuts. We anticipate a bit more trimming but that will occur during camp and the friendlies.”
