Entering his second season with the Pumas, Matt Friesen made an immediate contribution in 2009 by scoring the club’s first and second ever goals, finding the net in a preseason match against the Tacoma Stars. No stranger to the PDL, Friesen played for the Spokane Spiders prior to joining the Pumas. He also logged a stint with the Royal Racing Football Club Montegnee and played at Whitworth University. When Friesen isn’t on the pitch, he enjoys golf, playing the guitar and listening to trance, house and indie rock music. Also known as "Freeze," "Sweetsauce," and "The Kid," Friesen has been playing soccer since the age of 4. His favorite food is steak, and he owns a college degree in computer science.
