Taylor Hyde has been a busy man since he helped lead the Pumas to a division championship in 2009. The 23-year-old center back returns to Kitsap after a recent stint in the Bolivian Premier League with La Paz FC in Bolivia, where he played in extreme altitude and honed his defensive skills. Accustomed to winning, Hyde set six defensive records, made an NCAA tournament appearance and won one league title during his time at the University of Puget Sound in Tacoma. Now the player some call "T" hopes to help the Pumas' defense improve upon its total of eight shutouts last season.
When Hyde isn't shutting down the opposing team's offense, he enjoys biking, hiking, hunting, basketball — anything outdoors and competitive, he says. Also a fan of hip hop, reggae and country music, the outdoor enthusiast calls sushi his favorite food.
